Daniel Spear is a Principal at The Spear Group. He joined The Spear Group in 2015 and leads the firm’s investment management business. In this role, he is responsible for the firm’s acquisition strategy and deal execution. Daniel’s responsibilities also include overseeing The Spear Group’s multifamily rental business.
Prior to joining The Spear Group, Daniel was a vice president at Morgan Stanley's real estate alternatives group in New York from 2011-2015. He invested in real estate private equity funds and residential and commercial real estate assets in the United States. Internationally, Daniel worked in the group's London office in 2014, covering European markets, and he also led an investment in a Brazilian commercial real estate company.
Previously, Daniel worked in the loan asset management group at LNR Property. In this role, he resolved over $5 billion of distressed commercial real estate loans, covering the Northeast U.S. Notably, Daniel was the asset manager on loan restructrurings for General Growth Properties' mall portfolio and a trophy office building on Fifth Avenue in NYC.
Daniel received a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.B.A. with honors from Columbia Business School, where he studied Real Estate.
