Jeff Spear
Principal
Jeff Spear is a Principal at The Spear Group. He joined The Spear Group in 1976. Jeff is responsible for the firm’s overall strategy, development project oversight, and investor relations. His expertise lies in managing the complete process of development, including land due diligence, designing marketable product, obtaining entitlements/regulatory permitting, and vertical construction. Jeff is a Florida Licensed General Contractor.
Jeff is a leader in the home building industry in Florida. He was twice awarded “Builder of the Year” from the Builders Association of South Florida. He is a Past President and member of the Housing Hall of Fame of the Gold Coast Builders Association. He also serves as a Life Director of the Florida Homebuilders Association, Builders Association of South Florida, and Gold Coast Builders Association. He is Past Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee (2 times) and Legal Action Committee of the Florida Homebuilders Association. Jeff initiated the Condominium Statutes Successor Developer/Bulk Buyer legislation in the 2009 and 2010 session, which removed the uncertainty of successor developer liability and helped spur a recovery in the Florida condo market.
Jeff graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts. He also completed a Real Estate Executive Education program at Harvard University. Jeff has also been involved in various philanthropic causes and served on the Michael Ann-Russell J.C.C. Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Building Committee, and on the Temple Sinai of North Dade Board of Trustees.
