Our team
JEFF SPEAR
As President, Jeff Spear has a hand in all phases of the business and is particularly responsible for construction of the firm's Florida projects. A graduate of Cornell University, Jeff joined The Spear Group in 1976. Jeff is a licensed General Contractor, Mortgage Broker and Real Estate Sales Person.
His expertise includes navigating the complex due diligence involved in land and real estate transactions, obtaining entitlements and regulatory permitting. He also has long experience in supervising land development and field construction. His ability to maintain a clear vision of the South Florida marketplace coupled with efficient and economical design in both civil engineering and building plans has made the company profitable.
He has twice been named "Builder of the Year" by the Builders Association of South Florida, the only builder to ever earn this prestigious award more than once. He is also a life director of the Florida Home Builders Association and the Builders Association of South Florida and a past President of the Gold Coast Builders Association. Jeff has also completed the Certified Green Professional Training given by NAHB .
DAVID SPEAR
Vice President David Spear is the chief financial officer for The Spear Group and coordinates the administrative operations, and all aspects of financing. A licensed Building Contractor, he joined the firm in 1977.
David's solid expertise in land acquisition, construction coordinating, cost estimating and planning, as well as his strong working relationships with professional consultants, the financial community and industry officials, have played integral roles in The Spear Group's success.
DIANE SPEAR LEONARD
As Director of Sales & Marketing, Diane has been with the The Spear Group since 1987. She was a commercial real estate broker in Boston prior to moving to Florida. Diane is a graduate of the University of Vermont and is a Florida Real Estate Broker and a Mortgage Broker.
She has extensive hands on experience in researching and accessing the trends of the South Florida marketplace as well as direct sales and leasing. She has a talent for fine tuning real estate product design and marketing to achieve the greatest market impact. She is adept at implementing marketing campaigns as well as sales management. Diane is also very knowledgeable in land location and acquisition.
